St. Ambroise 2012 Special Reserve Russian Imperial Stout

20130613-184406.jpg

Loads of dark chocolate flavour with espresso, oak, floral hops and a bit of smoke. Black like Russian coal, smooth like Russian ballet dancer. One helluva big beer in a little bottle with some fancy packaging that is absolutely deserved. Boozey nose once it warmed up.

Probably the best Russian Imperial I’ve ever had. Catherine would be proud.

ABV: 9.2
My rating: 5/5

Serve at approx 13-15 degrees in a snifter or port glass. Buy yourself two of these if you can, one for now and one to lock away for a year or more.
